Mission:

To provide a physical space, where resident artists can grow spiritually, relationally and creatively while given freedom to experiment in creating works that glorify God and positively influence culture.

Vision:

The vision of the arts space is to raise up a generation of young Christian artists who are spiritually grounded, relationally connected and excellent in their art form so that their works and their lives can have a place in the artistic dialogue of our culture and help bring cultural renewal to our city, nation and world.

Description of the problem:

Work created by artists who openly profess faith in Christ is often technically mediocre.

There is a major lack of support for Christians who wish to succeed in the arts.

The Church is largely only interested in supporting artists who will benefit their specific programs, congregations or worship services.

Description of the solution:

Help artists achieve excellence in their given medium while remaining genuine in their faith.

Provide artists with all the necessary resources needed to achieve excellence (i.e. space, materials, counseling, encouragement, feedback, training.)

Bring together a community of people to promote resident artists and be impacted by their work.

(While the focus of the art space is to empower the resident artists, time will be spent reaching out to the local community of through workshops, critiques and art openings.)

Bridge the gap between the artist and the local church and teach the local church how to empower artists as missionaries to our culture.

Description of what the CPxAS is not:

It is not a community recreation center

It is not an arts and crafts facility

It is not an artists agency or record company

It is not a local church
